The Minerals Local Plan was prepared by the former Cornwall County Council and was to be the Cornwall Minerals Local Plan for the period to the year 2011. It sets out the Council's detailed land use policies and proposals for minerals devlopment in Cornwall. It is in accordance with the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, as amended by the Planning and Compensation Act 1991 and the Town and Country Planning (Development Plans) Regulations 1991, Planning Policy Guidance Note 12 and Minerals Planning Guidance Note 1.
The plan elaborates on the general sterategic context indicated in the Cornwall Structure Plan 1997. This plan also replaced the non statutory Cornwall County Council Interim Minerals Proposal Plan for the St Austell China Clay Area.
