Oil and Gas Authority
The Oil and Gas Authority’s role is to regulate, influence and promote the UK oil and gas industry in order to achieve our statutory principal objective of maximising the economic recovery of the UK’s oil and gas resources. On 1 October 2016 we became a government company, limited by shares under the Companies Act 2006, with the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy the sole shareholder.
