Marine Accident Investigation Branch

The Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) determines the causes of marine accidents with a view to improving safety. Reports of its investigations, which do not apportion blame or liability, are published online together with accident statistics and other information about its work.

MAIB works with the Department for Transport
