Kent and Essex IFCA Fishing Activity Mapping 2008 - present

Kent and Essex patrol vessels log sightings of commercial fishing vessels at sea along with the activity of the vessel when it is sighted. Data is collected for the purposes of fishery management and risk based enforcement of the fleet. Time, date, position, vessel PLN, vessel name, gear type and activity are recorded. Data is then inputted into GIS so that the results can be spatially analysed.
