This is the first time that the FCA has published a full year of data and shows that it has intervened in 564 financial promotions last year that were in breach of current rules.
Last year, the FCA begun collecting and sharing quarterly data to show the outcomes of its work in reviewing and intervening in financial promotions which may be in breach of the rules.
The FCA analyses the latest data, from January 2021 to 31 December 2021, resulting from action taken against authorised firms breaching financial promotion rules and referrals and investigations into unregulated activity.
What’s included in the data

- sectors, this relates to closed cases and excludes cases which are still ongoing
