British Geological Survey (BGS) Sampling Survey 1988/3: West of Scotland (08/Sep/1988 to 25/Sep/1988)

This marine sampling survey took place in September 1988 West of Scotland on board the drill ship Bucentaur. It was undertaken as part of a Consortium between British Geological Survey (BGS) and six Oil companies, it. The purpose was to enhance the geological knowledge in the offshore are lying to the northwest of the Scottish Mainland. Boreholes were drilled using a wireline coring system. These data are archived by BGS. Technical details of the survey are contained in BGS Commissioned Report WB/88/38C.
