British Geological Survey (BGS) Sampling Survey 1974/25: Solway Firth (17/Aug/1974 to 21/Sep/1974)

This sampling survey has been carried out by Institute of Geological Sciences now British Geological Survey (BGS) for BGS, the survey took place in August to September 1974 in the Solway Firth from a hovercraft. The purpose was to collect data for a helicopter gravity survey for the Applied Geophysics unit. Beach sample data were collected for the marine geology unit UK regional mapping programme.
