British Geological Survey (BGS) Sampling Survey 1967/3: Forth Approaches (16/Oct/1967 to 19/Oct/1967)

This British Geological Survey (BGS) marine sampling survey took place in October 1967 in the Forth Approaches on board the FRV Scotia. The purpose was to obtain data for regional geology mapping. Sea-bed samples were collected using a shipek grab. Sediment/rock cores were collected using a gravity corer. Sea floor data were collected using echosounder and transit sonar. These sampling data are archived by BGS. Technical details of the survey are contained in IGS report 70/1.
