British Geological Survey (BGS) Geophysical and Sampling Survey 1976/JM/14: Regional Mapping Programme: Irish Sea and St. George's Channel (29/Sep/1976 to 23/Oct/1976)

This British Geological Survey (BGS) marine geophysical and sampling survey took place in September/October 1976 in the Irish Sea and St. George's Channel on board the RRS John Murray. The purpose was to gather data which could be used to map the regional geology of the area. Cruise was virtually aborted by bad wather. Sediment cores were collected using a rock gravity corer.
