This survey was carried out in the Irish Sea and Bristol Channel between 12th
and 26th April 1996. As part of the aims of this survey, a grid of stations in
the western Irish Sea was sampled for plankton. A further set of plankton
stations was sampled in an area south of Milford Haven and across the Bristol
Channel to provide an indication of fish egg and larval distributions
following the Sea Empress oil spill and enable comparison with previous years.
The data described here consists of the numbers of ichthyo- and zooplankton
analysed and Nephrops larvae, along with associated positional and
ancillary data and volumes filtered.
